- fail0verflow tweeted on november 15 that they were just warming their tweeter engine for december - we are in december and no tweets have been made by f0f - if there would be someone capable of doing that it would certainly be f0f What we have right now... an article stating that they will release lv0 keys... with no proof what so ever just an article... it might be that it might be something else, or it might not be anything at all. We have the ccc approaching and right now we have no tweets from f0f and f0f is not mentioned in the list of speakers, for a presentation, or lightning talks... So right now this news are as fake as they can get, its just speculation from the fact that they said they were warming their twitter engine...

Well If it is fake, it sounds to me like they took the opportunity of all those that you mentioned to seem correct, like info about their plans on CCC leaked. The timing for this rumor is correct and if they do plan it infact for CCC I doubt they would announce it before on their twitter, they never did something like this.

im fairly certain in all the years CCC has been happening that there has never been some unplanned special event. i doubt they would do it just for this.
