As long as we're not just recommending high graphics games, then it's all good. I have definitely realized graphics don't mean anything, because i have simply never really cared for graphics but instead the physics and what not.
Hell, i still go back to crap polygonal (sp?) psone games simply for gameplay even when they have been remade. I do know people who won't play games because the graphics are last generation and beyond and i guess they just won't deal with it. I've always said that gameplay trumps graphics because there have definitely been a lot of games that look good but play terribly. So, i guess playluckyhit, take that into consideration. |

Study shows that a game with greater graphics settings compared to the same game with lower graphics settings has a significant difference in gaming performance. In a low detail, low resolution game the same people did worst then in the same game with higher details and higher resolutions. I can't source it because I read this about when I was in 8th grade (in 3rd year of college now - so about 7-8 years ago). But I didn't believe it myself and so me and my friends set up a test. We had a Sony viao with very low capabilities and a gaming machine that I had built purposely for games. The game we played was halo-multiplayer-lan. There was 5 of us including myself. We took turns and cycled through until we each played on both the viao and the gaming PCs. Everyone played better on the gaming machine and constantly died on the vaio. I think resolution is a big factor as when we turned the resolution up on the Sony vaio we played a little better against the people on the gaming computer. Just giving info and as for that article I'm not going to look for it, you can choose to take my word for it or not. Maybe even do your own tests .

As i read ur post, i was about to say graphics really matters only in mp. SP is all about sp(duh) gameplay, story and cinematics. But things change. I played MGS1 month ago on my pc, and although its a fantastic game, i still needed time to ''get used'' to old graphics.
ed: damn, twitter is down, just after kakaroto said something to someone about getting off twitter... |

If there's a best single player game of all time, it would be pacman, for new games, for me it's Batman Arkham Asylum.

For driving games I recommend GRID, Need for speed hot pursuit 2010, Need for speed the run, burnout paradise. For shooters I recommend brink, fear2, hmm dark sector was cool. PS: You HAVE to get AMNESIA THE DARK DESCENT its crazy good, you will love every moment of it .

Thanks for all your suggestions and to those of you who suggested Amnesia..thanks for making me hit my head after falling out my chair lol. Seriously that games messed, but I'm loving it so far. Creepy games like Penumbra are my cup of tea, but since Condemned and hl2's "We don't go to Ravenholm" I haven't found anything to really give me a decent shock. If any others are out there feel free to let me know
Two games I've found in my search that I'd recommend to anyone having a similar issue are Evochron Mercenary and the unreleased Infinity quest for earth. Apparently Infinity quest for earth is a f2p mmo with twitch based controls has realistically scaled planets 200 billion star systems the ability to fly around and land on any planet with no load screens The creators stated if you were to only spend one second on every planet you still wouldn't be able to visit them all in your real life life time.

“GTA San Andreas” is the best single play PC game. Most of my free time I use to play this game, it’s very interesting and I love it a lot.
