I'm in a pretty small town, and I actually managed to find a 2501a PS3 Slim at a local store. I hear these are the ones that you can jailbreak. But what I'm wondering is, it's brand new, but is it possible that the store would have updated all the older models to newer firmware? I mean, it looked sealed, but..

my advice to you is not to bay a ps3,but xbox 360,the 360 is easy to flash,JTAG/RGH,and you can play all new games,something you can't do on ps3,plus is cheaper.

I actually already have an Xbox. I'm buying a PS3 for the exclusives.

well if it is just for the exclusives you dont have to jb it,there are not that much exclusives and you can buy them really cheap

try to find second hand ps3s... the fat ones cause then they are prob under 3.54.. then u can flash it ... if i remember right just pm me if u need any help and maybe ill guide u.. ^^

That would be a smart thing.

You can taste the JailBreak and play the newest games

I thought all those new custom firmware rumors were just bologna.

But I guess that will be plan B if the PS3 ends up being over 3.55.
