There are "Secret Societies" out here that believe exactly that.

Thought I'd share that. Just a thought I had many months ago.

Why would a god let his people die and suffer? Oh yes, the ultimate reasoning; he/she has a plan for all of us. That's why he lets mass murder, natural disaters, plagues, etc happen.

Satan is just sitting down in hell, pickin his nose cause he can't do anything about his brothers ill wills.

dont flame me The scenario makes sense to me. I dunno...
That's basically what I was saying, but you said it better. Well, other than the picking his nose part...you know he is partying with all the coolest people who ever died...If there is an afterlife, it would seem that all the cool and interesting people would be in hell, and heaven would be full of the kind of people that you make excuses to get away from. Well, at least that is the case if religions have it correct. Just think...in Muslim heaven there are women so ugly that they died virgins...they are the punishment for suicide bombers.

I think (I dunno what the preachers teach. But we've already reached that point here that I think that everybody should be allowed to believe what he wants. Even in a Religion) that Satan claims his rights.
I always think of them two like two teams. As the Bible says: (with MY words ^^)
The earth is Satans. It's his terrytory (as to say). He can test Gods people like he wishes. Just to draw them to his side. But God gave/gives him a limit: just as much as the person can take! Not more!

Well, I myself just like everybody else have a lot of question unanswered!
I just remembered one typing this text:
Why wouldn't God just "destroy" Satan as he is much stronger than him? Or can an "existence" not be destroyed? Or does he still love him and hoping for an excuse?
I mean: God says that every Sin can be forgiven (with the exeption of a few, like talking bad about the Holy Ghost for example).
Even I do question some things. But I try to keep my Belief...

Well... It kinda felt like that. But I have to blame myself for being such a pussy...
I take it very personal when somebody talks about Religion and all the weak/bad things about it...

But now that you have made clear that

I think I won't take it too personal anymore...

I might have mixed this up, but I always thought that everything was forgivable so long as one repented? Like even if you spent your whole life saying that god is a farce and that the holy ghost is an evil spirit, you would be forgiven if you repented the moment before you died? Then the only sin that wouldn't be forgivable would be suicide...as it is murder and you die before you can repent (although even this might be gotten around, like if you took poison and it took a while to do the job, during which time you repented). Then again, I was raised in an "end of the world" cult...

Maybe you've watched Dogma a few times too many?

I will admit also, that I had thought that all was forgivable as long as you apologized or, repented your sins. Then God has no choice but to forgive you and let you enter his holy palace?

Having last rights performed absolves you of all wrongdoing allegedly.
Its just another part of a religion that contradicts itself,
1. Live to EULA set out by church = have access to PSN-afterlife
2. Do what the **** you want and have last rights = bypass EULA and get it anyway

I was brought up being forcefed roman catholic by schools/foster families and when I challenged my teacher on this she could not answer and told me never to bring up the subject again.

I don't know about other faiths but roman catholic church still makes/removes sins as and when they see fit.
Also the sins were the law at the time for everyday people so who's to say who made the laws of their society and threatened them with hell as punishment. Pure and simple fearmongering is not exactly the best way to represent a merciful god.

Also if we were made in "his" image then doesn't that mean that he himself was prone to being an ******* at times so why should he need to be merciful at all. We live according to the examples set by our peers and if those peers are corrupt are we all being damned for following them?

No worshipping false gods was a big statement also which brings about another issue.
If god exists then the majority of the world are damned for eternity as there can be only one right? Better to not worship a statue/object/place etc and just have faith in yourself.

Angels were allegedly soldiors. Why the hell would a merciful god need an army?
If he created everything then he created war/death/suffering and then cast out the one who challenged him. Further to that he created us in his image but told us not to be like him. Doesn't that make him a hypocrite?

All these questions can not be answered by the church and are only responded by saying similar to "its down to faith" "part of his plan"
