Thanks for the reply m8

Btw I'd like the most secure ps3 in term of YLOD ... then I can downgrade with Progskeet if necessary

Do you think that PlayStation 3 160GB [J Chassis] is affect of YLOD ? coz this version is 3.50 ( the model number is CECH-2501A.)

A Slim is your best bet. Though not one of the new ones with redesigned hardware. Keep in mind the PS3 has a higher survival rate than a 360 with pretty much any SKU...

A CECH2001A will probably be difficult to get, well if buying new it will probably be difficult to find a non-hardware revised slim.

Thank you

So the "CECH-2501A" (that comes with OFW 3.50) is YLOD safe ?
If yes , I'll buy this one

YLOD is caused by massive dust buildup or the thermal compound on the cpu and gpu has worn alot.
Aslong as you keep the ps3 in a cool ventilated area away from dust then you will never get a YLOD (This is the same for any model)
If you treat your electronics well nothing will go wrong with them. (Except for the 360 ofc xD)

All PS3's are YLOD safe. There is a slightly higher risk on the old Fat consoles, but overall the failure rates aren't very high. I owned a 60GB fat which gave me no problems and now have a 120GB slim. (I sold the Fat and got a slim... Did not use any of the extras the 60GB had, so decided it was best to sell it). As far as I know none of the current slims has any kind of defect/failure problem. The new unhackable 3k series might be best in terms of ventilation, but it is unhackable.

Some of the 2501A's came with 3.56, but I think that was because they were quickly updated from 3.50 to it so that people would not be able to hack it right out of the box. I believe that it should still be downgradable with a progskeet or other hardware flasher.

To point something out, the YLOD is the same as the 360's RROD. They signify a general hardware failure. So it might be dust buildup shorting something, or it might be a busted chip. The old 360's loved to overheat and suffered from cracked solder. This happens in PS3's too, but on a much smaller scale.
