I bought a 360 with that exact date just recently.. Silly me, I never asked about HDMI and it ended up being a Xenon! I was expecting at worst an Opus (after seeing no HDMI). But yeah, the date says it should be a Jasper.

Lesson learned, never get lazy asking questions before handing over money!

FWIW, I'd defo JTAG it over RGH since you don't have to wait for boot and hardware is MUCH cheaper (THIS is how I do mine and it's very reliable).

the problem with the jtag is you have to worry about an accidental update and protect the efuses

with the rgh if you set it up right you can get it down to 5 sec which is no more then it takes a jtag to boot

also that could be a falcon

was just wondering before i get it you said to make sure built date was before august
to do the rgh now i was just wondering does it matter wich firmware it is on
because i understand you cant downgrade the xbox 360

the rgh does not need a certain dashboard to be done it can be done on all dashboards as it is a hardware hack and not a software hack

Depending on the CB some jaspers can not be done

CBs
6750 can be done
6751 can be basically downgraded to a 6750 and it will work
6752 can not be hacked right now with the reset glitch hack

Your best bet it go for a slim because from my understanding its the only one that can not be blocked and the Fats can be blocked by MS through an update to the CB

the old xbox 360s are so unreliable I would be very careful, finding a 360 that can be jtagged and hasnt been played to death is rare. One that old would have a high chance of seeing a rrod. I would probably look for fat jasper models and flash the drive and have fun that way. Most all drives in the fats can be flashed, Im not 100% but I believe some slim drives cant be flashed, but that mightve changed by now. Anyway, thats just my 2 cents.

No it has not changed.Slim dvd drives: Lite-On 9504,0225,0401 and 1071 are all flashable.Most slims have these drive but there are some where the drive isn't flashable (i.e) Hitachi 0500 and Lite-On 1175.

Wht about the elite xbox 360 can they be rghor do they also
got to be on a certain firmware i am just looking at some
alternative if i cant find a slim but should be easy to find
