To decrypt eboots higher then 3.55 we need keys or not ? When yes they must have the keys and sign the eboots with their dongle keys. but the decryption and encryption process is known can we not just check and abort when the decryption is done take the decryptet eboot and sign it with 3.55 just an idea but i think the clever devs had get it when it is this easy

I would say that there is a level beyond finding the keys as in after we get the keys there will be an even bigger/better thing.

Actually they don't necessarily have keys.
They either have a bootldr/lv0 exploit allowing them to get lv0 for the keys, or an exploit that allows them to get the appldr keys directly, or perhaps one that allows them to dump decrypted eboot from PS3 running a game.

And why is it taking so long? Because you either need a bootldr exploit for any firmware, or an higher level exploit for higher firmwares.

This means that our devs are either less talented than the TB devs, or they are greedier than the TB devs.

Another thing is that TB team should not be considered part of the PS3 scene, they're just chinese people who found a way to make money so they developed that.

Don't put TB devs and real PS3 scene devs together.

Also, talent or not, I think the biggest issue is that our scene devs don't seem interested in working on the ability to play newer games on CFW, or hacking 3.60+... Since that's the only thing hacking 3.60+ would be for, newer games.

Yet they fail to deliver emulators, and homebrew other consoles have.

We have very little homebrew compared to consoles, computers, and even smartphones. I appreciate their work, but we need more contributions. Not like Geohot, release something once and ever some back to it. This is not how it works. Eleven months is a lot in my opinion, we should have had a new CFW or a way to play new games 6-9 months ago.

It took 2 years for someone to hack the 360 again (RGH) after the JTAG exploit was patched. (Well people didn't complain about it because you could still play newer games on JTAG 360s, and most people with modded consoles only want to pirate games and there is drive mod for that). So yeah, I don't think 11 months is that much.
As for the homebrew, JTAG on 360 was released like 3 or 4 years ago (I don't follow 360 scene but I'm pretty sure it's within 2 years of the 360's release).
Computers and smartphones are meant for that, unlike consoles. They've been open and around for years, so it's perfectly normal for them to have more homebrew than consoles.

@hamtah , if you really think it is taking too long and a disappointment to you then why don't you learn to reverse and code to help? Otherwise just chill and wait.

but we have a way to play the latest games it's called OFW 4.0
3.55 is there for homebrew
personally i don't see the need for a new cfw
devs greedy? well you're greedy too if you don't want to pay for the latest games imo
don't get me wrong i download games too but then again i accept that i can't play the latest releases (yet) if i don't buy them

Chinese people? Moreover not related to the ps3 scen
You believe in that?

Some day someone won't restrain and we will know who was responsible for TB and for PS3 scene nowadays stagnation... I won't be surprised if it will be well known dev or devs...

So how about ppl who want to play newest games but also want homebrew. They have to buy second ps3?

I think the best answer for you will be quotation from twitter "discussion" between two well known Ps3 devs (at least one of them is real dev )
