Hey!

You shouldn't mislead him Annelies, maybe you only read the topic, and not his question.
Also, the banner you were referred to, contains false information, it is possible to downgrade 4.00. And the answer is quite simple; Step 1) Buy a Progskeet and downgrade to firmware < 3.56. Step 2) Install Kmeaw 3.55 firmware. And you're done.

Downgrading with any flasher is not simple because you have to Dump nand 1 > Dump nand 2 > combine both files > verify the dump and check everything is right (Long, tiring process) . Then you need to patch it > then you have to split the file into 2 and flash each nand chip > then you can downgrade Oh and btw, if using the solderless progskeet you also need to buy the injectus jtag programmer so you can update progskeet to the latest bitstream. Not so easy when its put like that, huh? :P |

Even simpler answers are...
No you cannot do what you want on FW 4.00 You can on lower FW's but you would need to downgrade If you downgrade you lose PSN etc. Last but not least, do you still want to be able to play online (PSN) as if you do, go back to answer one in my list There, covered the basics I think?

because 1) if its a new unhackable slim he will brick his ps3 from what info u giving him 2) if his is ps3 factory fw was 3.55 or below .if its above he still would brick with your info once again .

what ps3 model do u have . look at the back of the ps3 for the code should be somethink like this CECHG01 also when you brought your ps3 what fw was on it
