Im new to this and i want to start hacking on the ps3 so is there a way to downgrade 4.00 to 3.55?

and if your ps3 came from factory on a higher fw then you cannot downgrade lower than stock

Just a quick question, I don't think its necessary to open a new topic.

I know my first firmware (console firmware) is something arround 3.55 and below, because I bought my PS3 on 8th December 2010 (I think few days after 3.55 firmware was launched)

And this was said "and if your ps3 came from factory on a higher fw then you cannot downgrade lower than stock"

According to this I am able to downgrade to 3.55, is it possible to know how?

PS: My current firmware is also 4.00 and never jailbroke before.

Someone released a package awhile back that would check the minimum version able to be installed on your PS3. Just google "MinVerChk" and you should probably find it.

Yes, I found it and my lowest version is 3.40

But dunno how to downgrade mine 4.00 to 3.55 or 3.40

use a hardware flasher
a 100% dump of your flash
verify with this if it's a nor flash
latest patches forthe downgrade
a dongle to put it in service mode
a usb stick with 3.55 cfw
lv2 files to install and to get out of service mode

thats all needed
