I was just reading the newest John Grisham book I got for Christmas. It starts out with this guy going to work at his law firm. He works in a 100 story building of which his firm leases the top 30 floors with 600 associates working there. The guy hated his job, hated his life and pretty much described everybody else's lives there as equally pathetic. Anyways, he ended up jumping back on the elevator and quitting his job to "save his life".
As I was reading it I was thinking the same thing. What a waste of human life and what a waste on the economic system. All these lawyers slaving away to the political system and and working to serve somebody else's. And it's not just the lawyers, it's the corruption of the system that helps make them worthless. Doing things like lobbying congressmen to allow companies to dump their chemicals in streams. Prosecutors are planting evidence anytime they think somebody is guilty based on a "hunch". Defense lawyers are trying to manipulate a system into thinking criminals are innocent. When somebody who actually is innocent gets accused of a crime 9 times out of 10 they get convicted for it. If it's innocent until proven guilty then why do they dress people in stripes and parade them in front of a court in shackles before proven innocent? The truths is that it's all about revenue. The lawyers are in it for the money, the judge is in it to keep the money circulating and so is the prosecutor who is just trying to build his case numbers and profile so he can hopefully run for higher office. They will send a man to prison who owes $3,000 in child support because the federal government will fund the sate $33,000.00 a year to house said prisoner. In the end people are just reduced to numbers. |

Unfortunately lawyers are accepted and snubbed on the society.
And that just happens because people dont really care. Because if they really want changes they can do a lot for their objectives, why people dont get out of their house naked and go protest in the streets like these people: |

Dont forget that the District Attorney is also a lawyer and he prevents murders and rapist from running the streets. The way I see it Lawyers in the US are our last protection against losing all of our freedoms. |

I agree. They are the LAST resort we should go to when it comes to protecting our freedoms. Remember it's because of a lawyer that Casey Anthony is out on the streets.

im sorry if i offend but are you retarded? did you even watch the case? if you want to blame any one blame the polices they did not have enough evidence to convict her. sure we all know she (or her fam) did it but they could not prove it without a reasonable doubt, that is why she went free |

Yeah they are last protection because the average American has little to no idea of their friends or rights and I personally would not take advise on about such matters from another person that is basically telling me what they think or feel is true. About Casey Anthony remember there was 12 jurors that said she did not do it so you can not blame the lawyers. Also I would not base my decision on her guilt on what was reported in the Media because bad news sales better then good news.

Lawyers are no better nor worse then 99% of the Earths population in that they do what they do for money.
You may not like the way they do it, but in the end the outcome of any legal case relies on someone elses judgement of the given 'facts', so blame human gullibility if you need to blame anything. If you need an example of empirical proof, then just look at the boards here and see how many people are gullible enough to believe things

Excellent point but.. the only reason you need a lawyer is so he can fight the lawyer the other side is using against you.. cut both of them out, provide legal advice from experts (not lawyers, more advisors than just people with a big mouth)and no lawyers needed in court. |

Most people that think lawyers are useless either have never needed one or have gone up against a person that had a lawyer when they did not. |
