Hey guys,

I've been on the PS3 scene since the original PSJailbreak dongle came out, and I've experienced the good and the bad.

Currently, I'm on 3.55 MFW enjoying homebrew, multiMAN etc. however I am not enjoying the lack of progress of the scene.

Given I am very eager to get back onto PSN, I was wondering what the best way to update my PS3 would be?

I want to make sure all tracks of homebrew and modification is removed. Is this possible to achieve?

Sorry if this is a noob question.. I just want to make sure I'm safe.

install 3.55 ofw first then the 4.00 anyway i m heading there too pretty soon oh just format the hdd after installing 3.55 ofw

Formatting the HDD will remove all my saves, correct? So I should back them up too. And my QA flag, homebrew and pkg's will all be removed, correct?

As for the 3.55 OFW install, will I need to go into any mode to do that or can I do it straight from XMB?

Dont need to format HDD.

I did it just updating and using blackbox

If you have a spoof installed make sure to disable it first

backup ur saves and home brew and pkgs will be deleted after format , i recomend installng the ofw from the recovery

Sweet, so it's as simple as:

1. Backup Saves
2. OFW 3.55 from Recovery
3. Format
4. OFW 4.00
5. Enjoy

Seeing as its getting harder and harder to find 3.55 PS3s and if you not into the E3 flash downgrade personally i would by a second PS3 and keep my 3.55 console just in case. But it is a fairly big investment I guess. Have fun on PSN!
