Try to update with the samsung update file.. Then you will be able to make a backup! you will find a link somewhere here.. it has been posted a few times.. this work for a couple of people here.. including me..!

i have brick my ps3, why run only backup with this partch and not the original backup?

with pach now for me is not possible update 4.0 and i have briked!

no way really...don't run this "patch" file or your ORIGINAL backup no run!

i have 2 days this problem! 8002f157 and for me IS NOT POSSIBLE FIX THIS! why?

i have fixed 8002f157 1 time and run best... and after fix my ps3 i have try this patch and run good 3.55 cfw for return on OFW 4.0 i have used same patch (request me reinstall OS) and magic number: 8002f157

My method fix this no run for me now because my bios patch with this patch have edit something of course in syscon and now for me is not possible USE A ORIGINAL OFW! always 3 beep with original FW (patch firmware 4.0 run good but when install .pup always 8002f157)

use this and brick your ps3.

good life.

Hope return good my ps3 if kakarotos make a .pup 4.0 without check.....HOPE....

We got spoiled with my 3 units of E3

Which did not use any of the files DOWNGRAD.BIN

E3 is just able to read the backup of a device.

Even if you do not use file DOWNGRAD.BIN.

I got 4 to test the PS3.
And I'm sure.

You mean you've try 4 E3 flasher and any of them works? Are you sure of your installation? Because the E3 flasher isn't perfect but it works properly for a downgrade.

I have 4 e3 flasher

Each is only installed on one machine and use.
On the other device does not respond.

e3 is a disposable one.
And will only be used for a device.
Even if they do not Downgared.

With backup.
e3 Flasher you are disposable.

i think it was bricked while trying to fast swap thing. and now he cant install ofw 4.0 anymore like me. it always gives the same error 8002f157 with all his backup bios'.

first you have to buy and install one of them. after that you can do TDCro's guide on the thread "flashing".
