PS3 internet browser

The browser on the ps3 used to be different, didn't it? Did they change this to keep us from doing certain things with the browser? The reason why i ask is because i usually stream from my laptop to my tv. But since my laptop died on me the only thing i have to stream to tv is ps3. Problem with that is two sites i use only support firefox, chrome browsers. I guess this has to do with certain pluggins. Is there anyway around this? If not, I hope @JAF ports firefox for us.

pity we couldn't get internet browser plug-ins on our cfw ps3s, or even something better then the stock one as it is crap lol. only some sites work for me though they arnt always that good either fs lol

you would think with the money Sony made from the ps3, they would invest in bringing a better browser to is instead of that bit of crap that hasn't been updated from day one, all these firm-wire updates and nothing to improve it wtf like. just shows how much they care about you after you buy the console doesn't it lol

i searched and only found ways to stream files. I am looking to watch the game live. I know there was a thread on here the other day about how to get links to stream through showtime. Am i remembering this right? Does anyone know if it would work for this kind of streaming?

I thought multiMAN had an inbuilt web browser but it looks like the regular one to me.

Is there a way to implement flash player in the web browser? It's hard to find sites that are supported for ps3 format.

It would be easier for someone to replace the PS3's web browser with a better, open source one and somehow get flash working with that than try implementing flash to the current one I think. Either way, the PS3 needs flash...
