Dump verification
Hello,
After a long time dumping NORs, I have obtained recognizable dumps by norpatch. However, norpatch reads only the PRG0 and PRG1. The other variables are unknown. BTW, I am on OFW4.00. I am pretty sure that my circuit is fine since it is my 3rd time soldering it. I have got more than 10 dumps which are identical with exact same MD5 values. I am using Crackmyday's method of powering the teensy using the Vcc from the motherboard since I have the Samsung K8Q2815UQB chip. NORway v0.4beta12 can successfully read the chip model number while it is dumping. My dump is here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21918357/flash21.bin Can someone verify if this is the proper dump? I tried to write using the Write command after modifying a dump using Dospierra's method but it says that samsung is not currently supported. Should I force write using the other write commands? |

As I see - You dump is correct.
Use erasechip command before writing, then writeword or writewordubm to write Your patched dump. |

Thx dudshl. I wrote a patched file To the nor but apparently the patch is not correct since when i am starting the ps3 with my usb in right port, it is not going into service mode. I guess my patched file is wrong. Can anyone patch this file for me?
thanks |

Btw, norpatch's version number always equals to the highest OFW version it can recognize. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* |

Successful NOR write but nothing happens after I plug in the USB in the right-most port of the PS3. PS3 turns on normally with message connect controller and press PS button even with USB inside. I tried various USBs but still nothing.
THe files Lv2diag.self and PS3UPDAT.PUP are in the root folder of the USB drive. The LV2diag is the one provided by jaicrab. Any idea on this? |

You'll need a service jig for that. If you don't have one, you can also use your teensy to do it. You'll just need a special PSGrade version, check this out: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...415#post269415 After flashing the psgrade hex, connect teensy usb to rightmost PS3 usb port. Turn on PS3, right after that press Eject (i.e. press power button, release power button, press eject button, release eject button). PS3 will beep 2 times. PS3 should power off automatically after a while. It sometimes requires more than one try... Once you're in fsm, you can disconnect teensy from ps3 usb and continue with your usb stick. |

Verification Failed
Hello,
I got another ps3 but here is the thing. When I follow your procedure with NORway 0.4beta12, I cannot get a good dump (unknown manufacturer etc) with 3.3 Voltage Regulator. I tried also Norway 0.4 beta5 and Norway 0.3. The chip is Samsung K8P2716UZC. However, if I force turn off the PS3 while teensy is plugged in, then make a dump, I get a perfect dump with everything correct. However, when I try to write (ps3 is still off), I get these errors: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Users\WSUadm\Desktop\NORway\NORway.py", line 664, in <module> n.writerange(addr, data) File "C:\Users\WSUadm\Desktop\NORway\NORway.py", line 512, in writerange self.program(addr/2, data[:0x20000], wordmode, ubm) File "C:\Users\WSUadm\Desktop\NORway\NORway.py", line 499, in program raise NORError("Verification failed") __main__.NORError: Verification failed My log is here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21918357/ps3log.txt Is there a way I can force write it? I have never tried 5V on this machine. Last edited by zaf; 01-17-2012 at 10:42 PM. |
