I finally decided to update my MM from 2.03 to 2.09 and everything is working fine. Except, when I press Triangle to bring up options under the XMMB Mode I don't have an arrow that shows me which option is selected. I am blindly pressing X to see what option I have selected. any suggestions on how to fix this issue, anyone?

I can't find an answear to this problem anywhere!
I'm new in the forum and just bought my first external hd too. It's a Hitachi Lifestudio desk 2 TB, which I've formated to FAT32 with "FAT32 Format" program.
The problem is:
the ps3 recognise it and I can open photos, videos, etc. multiMAN does too, but it doesn't display the games!
In multiMAN it appears as dev_usb081. I've tried to edit the option.ini like this:
# Secondary search folders:
hdd_home2=/dev_hdd0/GAMEZ
hdd_home3=/dev_hdd0/game/OMAN46756/GAMEZ
hdd_home4=/dev_hdd0/game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ
hdd_home5=/dev_hdd0/BDRIPS
hdd_home3=/dev_usb081/GAMES
hdd_home4=/dev_usb081/GAMEZ
hdd_home5=/dev_usb071/GAMES
usb_home2=/GAMEZ
usb_home3=/BDRIPS
usb_home4=/_SKIP_
#usb_home5=/_skip_

but it still doesn't work!
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. I fell like I have thrown money away buying this HD and that's awful ¬¬

Thank you and sorry for any grammar mistakes. English is not my native language :P

I had the same problem with my iomega 1 tb drive. I ended up replacing the 160 gb internal drive with it. Worked out better.

You can also try hitting Square when in the games column. I accidentally hit square and I don't have my games grouped so I wasn't seeing anything. I was beginning to worry then I noticed last minute that the game column was displaying the action genre. I kept hitting square till it was back to displaying all games. For a second though I thought that my HD was messed up or MM was, but I got it working, simple user mistake.

Also have you checked to see if the GAMEZ folder is in the root of the USB drive? Just make sure. Another thing in the XMMB Display mode under MM there is an option to auto scan USB connected devices for games, make sure this is enabled. One more thing I'd have you check is, open File Manager and see if you can view your games within there. If you can then your HD is fine and it is either a user mistake or MM isn't reading your games somehow. I'll bet is a mistake on your end though.

depblkman, I've tought about it, but it's a 3.5" external hd. is there a way to make it work?

and Aezaeo , I'm sure about the GAMES folder in the root. I have managed to make it kinda work once, changing some things in the options.ini. I could make the games appear on the list pressing "refresh", but the multiMAN still did not reconize the hd as an usb device, so I couldn't copy/backup games from the hdd to the external and the other way around unless from the File Manager page.

I think that there must be a way to make the multiMAN load the usb081 as any other, but I can't figure it out. I'm just a noob :\

There is but it calls for modding the ps3 itself. Would be easy if it was a 2.5.

I see.
If I can't get multiMAN to recognize the usb081, is there a way to turn it a usb000?
