I dumped my PS2 BIOS using Swap Magic and then dumped it over my network using a BIOS dumping ELF and XLink Beta. And our rules on our site is you can't ask where to get it, as it's technically piracy, since Sony owns the copyright to the PS2 BIOS.

Nobody ever actually dissagreed, but this doesn't cancel the rules of the forum, you can do whatever you want in your house, but in public you must be more careful. We can't just advertise piracy and think that this place is not going to take a DMCA takedown... Not everything is about morals and beliefs but also for practical things such as this.

Well maybe I overreacted a bit, I have seen some bigger queens ;p And I agree about the public thing, but it shouldn't be unexpected that question like these arise. And it's still kinda disturbing that no real progress was made toward a new CFW despite all the projects, JFW, True Blue and all that mumbo-jumbo.

You've also already agreed to a TERMS OF USE for any and every console's BIOS you've dumped saying that you agree not to do anything of the sort.

Do you realize that authorized PS2 game developers have actually used our emulator to debug and test games? And we've recently had two of our devs go to work for Sony. I guess they don't think what we're doing is wrong as much as you do. And being it's their console we're virtualizing, I'll take their opinion over yours.

There is nothing in the PS2's terms of use that says you cannot dump the BIOS. Feel free to look it up.
