I won't quote the whole post, I just want to say thanks, I'm glad we're finally on the same page.

And as for mascots, I suppose everybody has their own favorite... for Playstation I'd say it's Solid Snake (since I grew up with those games, from MGS on PS1 and onwards) and for Xbox, I'd probably say it's Marcus Fenix from Gears of war rather than Master Chief, that guy just seems... less generic, I don't know.

bottom line is, Shooters (FPS) are just mainstream crap... i don't like main stream stuff, every call of dutty is the same, halo has been worsen since the 1st one, and battlefield is meh... now the graphics are great on those titles, but the games are not that good seriously, the games have no content...
now i am not saying everyone should be playing rpg's or something, but seriously... i have more fun playing shank than playing any of that mainstream ****.

I am a gamer who doesn't have a full preference, I genuinely play all games regardless of console, regardless of genre and regardless of generation.

Believe me I am very hardcore when it comes to gaming so I feel I have a good knowledge when it comes to a topic such as this one.

When people are asked "what's the first thing you think of when you think of Nintendo?" most people will say Mario, when people are asked "what's the first thing you think of when you think of Xbox?" most people will say "Halo" and specifically think of an image of Master Chief yet when people are asked "what is the first you think about when you think of PlayStation?" there isn't an answer that universally springs to mind. Yes Kratos and the God of War series is cool, yes Nathan Drake and the Uncharted series is cool, yes the realism and attention to detail in Gran Turismo is cool and so on...but most people will never give one answer like they do with the above rivals and this is fact.

@Zara me too, although I think if you look back and read all of what I had originally said in my long post you will find I didn't change my stance on anything...I just think you didn't read everything in full but Solid Snake is a good one, Sony just has too many! (although that's a good thing and a bad thing as I am demonstrating!).

To me the power isnt all about the hardware i think what really sells the consoles is the firmware layout and not hearing on how it got hacked to me i like my 360 better because the firmware is alot better and there isnt people modding the xbox all the time that u hear about ps3 other hand has a horrible firmware layout and tO me thats why i dont like it as much overall if they continue with their firmware layout sony will fail and if xbox continues with their firmware layout they will win also i dont like my wii because of how its not a big boy like the other consoles its more of a chilidish thing to me and also no controller. And i absoulutly hate the wii firmware layout. Overall the firmware layout and the security of not being modded every second

@WICKEDxXxR3B3L the new dashboard(360) is sh*t it is utter fail it is like the xmb and wii system menu had an abortion that was then run over by a truck then ms went hey lets use this pos.
im not a huge fan of the xmb there is not enough organization of it, the wii menu is nice as its a very simple layout. are you retarded? the 360 isnt being modded wtf do you call the drive fw and the rgh/jtag? i would call that being hacked hell if any system is not being hacked its the ps3. also the wii does have a controller what do you think the wiimote is?

Yes i know that 360 has been hacked but when u play a game on the 360 you dont get a whole bunch of modders modding the game and alsp the 360 does have the best firmware layout sure i like the original 360 firmware layout better than the current one but still i love the 360 firmware layout. As for the wii layout i hate it because its all in boxes on the screen unlike the ps3. As for the ps3 i hate how they have kept the layout for all the uyears and the need more features like the xbox. What really sells the 360 layout is the features such as the offers and the videos etc. Also for the wii remote thing they need to go with a orginal controller like the ps3 and 360 controller. To me the 360 is the best machine out on the market right now because of their controller and because of the firmware layouts.

The XMB isn't that bad. The Wii has a nice interface too. The 360 has a decent one too....

I like the XMB the best. It is the most "to-the-point" interface and doesn't try so hard to appeal to family/casuals.

they could have put the new things on the older dash not make this abomination they call the current dash. the biggest fail for the new dash is how games take the back seat and there are ads all over it. you should have seen all the feedback from the beta of the dash of people telling them the new layout is fail ms just closed down all of them said its how they want it, well guess what its not what they want its what the consumer wants. i have had this new dash for months and i still f*cking hate it. if i knew how bad it was going to be i would have not gone into the beta. you say you hate the wii layout because its all boxes wtf do you call the new dashboard on the 360? with this new dashboard ms didnt care what people had to say they want it their way and f*ck the user.
