I'm not asking for a jailbreak, I'm just wondering if anyone has been able to successfully debug the PS3 4.0 Firmware .? I'm wanting to the do the same, and hopefully stumble upon an exploit for a jailbreak ( Though not likely due to my inexperience with PS3 ). However, it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.

What about disassembling the PS3UPDAT.PUP file ? Has anyone succeeded ( publicly ).?


Virgin KLM: PS. I don't see how asking "if anyone has been able to debug the PS3 console" makes no sense . . .

PUP files can be disassembled, the problem is decrypting the files inside the PUP

But even making the slightest change to any of the files inside of the .PUP would flag it invalid, or it would no longer be properly signed, right ?

the problem is that we cant decrypte the .pkg files in the pup file then its editing the xml files to add installed packages which that part is easy but then we need to be able to run hombrew etc and so on . which is kakaroto is stuck with runing homebrew on his hen
