its just a PS3 TOOL google them, you'll find out what it is.
and it really wont help in finding exploits, neither will debugging 4.00 we need to decrypt the binaries of 4.00 first and then look for exploits by reverse enginneering, but since we can sign binaries, we wouldn't really need to find any exploits anyway, we could just decrypt 4.00, patch in what we want, and sign with 3.55 keys (theoretically) |

I think only the companies working for Sony do, like Sony themselfs, hardware/software suppliers like TOSHIBA and the companies responsible for stuff like the infrastructure of their network only have those, BUT, I'm pretty sure that all of those live gameplay previews you see at the TGS, E3 etc are all rendered using these consoles AND NOT Dev Tool consoles or Retail ones, I've seen atleast 5 photos of people sneaking backstage and take photos of the equipment. Some of them got stollen, you can search them on the black market if you want to make a generous move, I guess many people would help investing money on one too...

It's part of the PS3 DEV kit that companies like THQ and RockStar use to develop PS3 games.
---- Virgin KLM: SOOOO SHINY AND PRETTY! Too bad it costs more than my car :\ --But none-the-less, you are right. A regular person getting a hold of this could mean serious consequences for Sony . Last edited by монтре; 01-09-2012 at 09:24 PM. |

Yeah, Virgin KLM is right.
This is the PS2's equivalent known as TOOL: ![]() And here's it with a few buddies: ![]() Original Xbox, PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast devkits.

If not, then wouldn't it already be possible to at least 'patch-in' material? ( Even if it isn't signed, and won't run, will it at least be recognized? ) And I beg to differ on the debugging not helping. If one were able to debug, he/she would basically know the inns and outs of the PS3's core functions . . . For instance, knowing what's going on while it's actually IN the process of flashing. FL321: Gamecast was pretty damn awesomeeeeee ! Especially Mortal Kombat! Last edited by монтре; 01-09-2012 at 09:46 PM. |

I have tested the PS2 one from a friend that works in Square Soft (now Square Enix), he still has it in his house.
It's really cool, you can play your game on your TV on the other screen you can get a full debugging information and tools. Also it plays any kind of backup iwth zero restriction. If I am correct you can do the same thing in PHAT models of the southbridge, knowing your per console key, allows you to decrypt the chain of trust traffic in there.

PS2 PHAT, I could play backup discs (But then again, not really sure about SLIM) PSP Original PHAT, I could pandora all day long, Slim, not so easy, and now, currently impossible. I can imagine the same happening for the PSPVita. |
