How Much Do Graphics Matter To You?

This Is My Opinion:

Many people would say something like "Graphics don't matter because gameplay matters. You can have a game with excellent graphics but if the gameplay sucks, then the game sucks." I disagree but not completely.

I love being immersed in games, and graphics are the reason for this. I love gazing at open fields, or destroyed buildings, or oceans, or watching light shine down on a forest... It pulls me into the game's world. Put that together with a great story and you have a great game. You could always LEARN how to play any video game, no matter how "bad" the gameplay might be, but it's ten times harder to force yourself to be immersed in the games atmosphere.

Certain games get passes that are trying to pursue a certain art-style, but games in general should try to push graphics IMO. I do think gameplay is important, but like I said, you could always learn how to play any game.

i say both gameplay and graphics really matter , but to me gameplay is first priority cuz some games like motorstorm had awesome graphics but sucky gameplay, well i wouldnt play those games again XD

IMO Motorstorm had good gameplay, it was just difficult.

every gamer is entitled to their own gamer but the real gamer doesnt pic for me im not immerse in the worl of homebrew like playng ps1or ps2 games but other player like because it was a part of their life playing low graphics games but for me its all about the graphics i kinda appreciate it more when a developer works for their work like crysis 2 its one heck of a beautiful game

IMO it's up to the game itself. There are many games, that don't have nice graphics, but the gameplay and story is really cool, and this goes vice versa. Personally for me, graphics is a major thing for the whole experience, but not the most important thing. I always try "to give a chance" to games with not that good graphics, and for sure there are "diamonds" among them. But really, do you think, that Uncharted would be the same if it was with crappy GFX? Or God of war? Like I said - it's important, this is one of the main reasons we get new generation of consoles and PC's, BUT it's not the most important thing.

I can honestly say it depends on the game. I still play old school games on a daily basis depending on the game. However, I prefer playing my old school games on an emulator rendered in HD if at all possible. Still, Mario Kart Wii is one fun Mother F'er and so is Punch Out Wii, Twilight Princess, and Goldeneye Wii with the Zapper. It can't be denied that lush environments are beautiful to look at on my PS3 or 360 but I definitely don't choose my game or console for that matter based strictly on graphics. Lot's of people still choose to give up graphics for other options too. For instance lots of my friends choose 360 over PS3 based on online experience and ability to play newer backups.

i will say this simple,if the game does not have top HD graphics i am not touching it that is it,that is why i am wondering how people are exited to play ps1 or ps2 games on ps3,i would newer look at ps1/ps2 game little less to play it or wii lol i dont know why people even bought that system

Maybe because it offers, a whole different experience and fun gamplay... Just a thought.

P.S: I just love playing my Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver on PS3.
