Too bad kakarotos's jailbreak is stuck and probably will not happen. Even if he release the failbreak, he said clearly that backup managers will not be supported or allowed, and also, WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE, EVER. If you are lucky to have a 3.55 old console, it's great, but if you have a new cech 3000+ (can't downgrade) you have a big, black and expansive paperweight.

Failbreak? Let's see you try and make something of this caliber on your own. I am pretty sure Kakaroto is working on it, but remember, he has a life too and he does not owe the scene anything.

As for backups... They will no doubt happen eventually. Nothing is impossible.

kakaroto is not our only hope, i know at least a dozen of people working actively on the ps3, although they haven't decided to come forward yet, and put their names out like kakaroto did, that doesn't mean people aren't working behind the scenes, they are, please be patient, it will come, do not worry

KaKa isnt interested in loading backups so why should he work on it?

His work is for the homebrew scene, being able to play homebrew and still be able to play newer games on the same machine is his goal.

and how is a 3k unit a paperweight? The one I sold recently still played my games and my blu-rays just fine.

This was said last time when the 3.55 exploit hit and it just happened a couple of months ago with the RGH exploit for 360s and that "no rebooter will be made for this, just for homebrew etc." and look what happened there.

you´re a very negative person cuz the first cfw didn´t have back ups working till some1 else discovered how to do it......kakarot may not directly open the door to piracy and back ups but indirectly cause the finding of a way to play back ups in 4.0ofw.....because unfortunately at the end of the day a major portion of every scene is for piracy. ppl just dnt have the dough to spend money on games.

kakarotoks's cfw seems to have stalled, but i hope he cracks the nprm algo soon as it seems to the stumbling block. In the meantime 2 ps3s ( one on 3.55 and the other on 4.00) seems to be the only viable solution to enjoy homebrew and new games.
