what's wrong with the current one/way? well except no isos and stuff. i don't have much room for psone isos on my hd so i've always used discs since they're so cheap

Think of the advantages of emulators over the original console, and because you don't have much room on YOUR hdd it doesn't mean that others don't aswelland it should not get ported! There is always to option of physical discs and external hdd. XD
PS3's internal PSOne emulator sucks, everything is so blocky and so blurry, unacceptable for an emulator of a console that has just 2MB of video RAM, they could have easily implemented 1080/720p options for you to atleast try using them, either way I bet PS3 is more than able to emulate at 60fps PSOne at 1080p (1920x1080 or 1440x1080 if you don't like the streched sides) with antialiasing and hq4x texture filtering.

i was speaking for myself, i know people do have room.
i think the ps3's emu is great. constant framerate would be great and some textures would be cool. i'm kinda a purist though; i like snes, gen, etc all blocky and stuff and not smooth like a cartoon.

I don't dissagree but in anything with 3D rendering it's soooo hard to agree. There are so many occasions that resolution and fps results into a game being nearly unplayable. Example, Crash Team Racing on PS3, everything seems so blurry and so blocky, I cannot see sometimes where I have to turn where is a wall infront of me or something because of the BAAAD subpixel calculation of PS3's emulator. The issue is that the PS3 emulator is worse than playing a PSOne game on an original PSOne. PSP's PSOne emulator is pretty good actually but the PS3 one is a baaad joke... Unfair...

have you done any poking at replacing the game of a psn mini/psOne Classic? i think they all use the psp emu on ps3, even ps1... i tried a mini replacing the eboot.pbp with a psp homebrew eboot.pbp and with a bit of hex'in (first few lines and game id/name) got it to black screen w/o errors but crashed my ps3 on exit.. i'd love to know if anyone else has tried, i was thinking of a ps1 memory card management/cheating system to start off with. but a psp usb homebrew loader maybe even possible on ps3.

the two games i was gonna use (installed to usb):
one (psOne classic)
a space shooter for two bucks (mini) psp

i'm sure if we all smack our heads hard enough something will happen.
