I think visual basic is a good all rounder but depends why you want to do with it . I think c++ and c# are the most powerful of the dot net languages , il probley go for on of them . Java is a good one but I can say that it can get very difficult very soon , pythons a nice easy one but it depends how deep you want to go and python is more of a scripting language which can be used on ps3 no idea how but it don't work on its own

They're quite a bit different, but way more fun IMO. I found vb kinda annoying.

I'd suggest C# (C-sharp) for anyone just getting into programming and contemplating between VB and C. You get the best of both worlds with C#, and if you can learn C#, then migrating to VB, or C is far simpler than trying to start with C and then later learning VB (or vice versa). If I had this option over a decade ago when I started programming, and the knowledge I have now about it all, this is definitely the way I would have started out.

If you want to go more in depth, check into learning spu/ppu, mips, asm, etc...

C# locks you to the Windows platform though.

Python is what everbody expected java to be in the 90s. python works on several platforms( iOS, MacOS X, Windows and Linux ), it runs as a script and compiled.

How come? PSL1GHT is a C API.

I know quite alot of MC680x0 cpu and MC6888x fpu asm,
and it does not really help alot when it comes to learning PSL1GHT.
