Good question actually. I myself haZ a new PS3 slim version so it would be nice to have this feature on EVERY PS3.

I used to do that, but for the sake of a £20 dongle and booting everything region-free from internal HDD I wouldn't put myself through the torture of what you just mentioned again. What you claim to see as the only advantage being PSP games is quite frankly wrong.

this is very useful as ps2 games kill space on my internal hdd. has anyone actually got this to boot on a non bc ps3? tried it on my 160gb phat and all i got was the ps2 boot sound and then it stayed on a black screen.

Hopefully in the near future mate. I refuse to believe it won't happen. And I refuse to believe Cobra and TB dudes are that smart that no one else can break open their work. Either the smart ones who can do it are taking a break, turned off buy the scene, somehow scared away by Sony, or are working behind the scene on something.

IMO, It would be neat if Coveman released a .pkg of this that could be launched in cfw for BC PS3s. Not excluding the slims but they don't play all ps2 games anyway.

All of them are cowards (except for two or three). No one in the scene can help us. Everyday/week we see some new bullsh*tting team rise out of no where and tell us they are going to work on giving us something. What do we get? NOTHING. We need an attention whore, like Geohot. Someone who will just release everything for the sake of being "famous". I don't care if he/she steals someone else's hard work, since that person probably won't release it.

Don't you guys think it has been long enough? One entire year has passed, and we have not been able to go anywhere further than 3.55. Sony has beat us once more, and considering us releasing another firmware will just result in the same mess, why continue? I may sound like a person who really needs to pirate his games, and play for free, but I'm not. I just got myself a nice gaming computer, and I have already bought a couple of games for it. Its just I feel that the PS3 is where I really belong. All my friends have a PS3, and I feel lonely being the only one not able to play new games or go online with my friends. But aside from any personal problems, the PS3 scene finished progressing long time ago.

Gitbrew also finished with the PS3
KaKaRoToKS is taking forever to finish his exploiter (I am starting to doubt he even has one or if he is ever going to finish)

See the pattern? These guys are gone, and there is no more "scene" in the PS3, but "drama". We might as well wait for others, but it hasn't helped over the year so why are we thinking it will happen over night? People go around clicking 4.0 CFW threads like it just happened out of no where, and some random person gave it to us. There is a thing called Work In Progress (WIP); for the PS3 scene, it is RIP (Rest In Progress).

I'm not trying to be a smartass, but i'm happy with current 3.55. Linux revived, and i'm not missing any PS2 games to play. Even if i want to play some PS2 games, my Slim PS2 would serve me well.
