the site rents "ad space" . the ads content is the responsibility of the sponsor

the jb-king virus was not hosted in the ad nor on this site. it was hosted on the sponsors site and what happened to the ad? it was removed.

any problems with ads are dealt with.
sometimes they are false positives. one person claims it came from here but nobody else has an issue.
others simply obtain them elsewhere and think they came from here.
"rarely" one does get through and it was dealt with.

anyone using the internet without good protection is like sticking your pecker in a prostitutes hole and wondering why it itches and turns green.

and anyone with any knowledge at all knows what adblock+ is.

ads are not ideal, they are not nice, we dont like them but they are a necessity. no donations+removed ads= no forum capiche?

plagued by popups?
with adblock disabled i get an ad on the front page that simply requires a "click" to skip it and you should only experience this a couple of times a day.

if you are "plagued" then you should look into your computers security

/me prefers IRC since there is very little storage required...
Hehe... the bandwidth is prolly bigger though considering DCC/Bots and people are always talking.
EDIT:Just looked at the hosting. Managed. lol
Unmanaged servers are always cheaper.
/me thought there was enough nerds here to use unmanaged

it's not the website's owners fault that you have no clue how to block adds

I couldn't tell you the last time I saw an ad on this site. It is called firefox and adblock plus. The $400 is not mandatory. Most sites have a donation link. TBH the only gripe I have with donations on this site is the fact that a VIP system was put into place to recognize donors. All the people that donated before this VIP system will never get recognition. If you do not like the ads, or how donations are welcomed here then you can always stop coming here. You do not have to donate and you do not have to view the ads ever.

Set up a site that gets thousands of visits per day and see what it costs you. If you do not like the ads then get adblock for firefox. As far as this site goes if you think the price asked for donations each month is a little harsh then ask the admin why it costs so much. I am sure he will break it down for you.
