You can download it here.

Well I haven't tried that, because I'm still focusing on adding to my modded FW 4.00. BTW do you mind If I use your XMB manager in my firmware?
Was really wondering how you were going to test them before writing to flash without modding them to kinda run on 3.55 for testing (if you have a flasher then its no prob) I assume you must have a flasher anyway to write it to flash.

Yes use it but I would like any improvments you would/might make to the XMBFM to be posted here openly so everyone can benifit from it and add/modify it etc, other than that its cool. Just give me some small credit if you release anything as its the only thing ive ever come up with for ps3 and it did take a lot of messing to come across this filesystem thing. Anyway its easy for anyone to reverse mine or your xml hacks so do what you like with it and best of luck, let us know how the 4.00 test goes.

Small update!

- Getting rid of annoying long warning description bit (easy- DONE! )

One down... Off to bed now, 830AM here

Ive been thinking, If we can get it to install pkg files from any location without install pkg files icon being there , which I think it can do quite easily (i think), then that means in theory that pkg files could be installed easily on 4.00, maybe this is the way kakarato uses or some other way to patch in #seg_install_pack_files?

Im gonna try add a option for installing packages to the file manager that doesnt use rebugs options, just to see if this could be done.

Also I have discovered a little easter egg in Rebugs code, some blanked out entries relating to a "REBUG Essentials" category or option, It might be that it was something they considered and gave up on or something they plan to add. Im not gonna say anymore about it incase.

Im thinking of putting up a few posts on here showing exactly how I added the new File Manager to the Firmwares xmls/Rebugs package manager, the explore_plugin_full.rco swap is actually not needed in reality and its just for show, its just for the icons and names etc, cosmetics, I could have just used titles and title infos that were already used elsewhere in the XMB for the Filemanager and only swapped the game_category.xml .

The xml is where the important modding goes on and suprisingly its one of the only types of files in the ps3 FW that you can mod with wait for it .....Notepad .

Dont forget the original jailbreak relied on xml hacks too!

The reason these hacks are so powerful is because they are not really hacks, these simple xml files have the authority to call lots of code without the xmls themselves being verifed at all by the PS3 security. Priceless!

Seems Notepad has the decryption keys for Sony's xmls built right in all along, Sony must have forgotten that lol!

Did I forget to mention that my XMLs have got Dongle bricking DRM built in that will first rape your dongle, and then brick your PS3 if you go near PS3phews, I dont think even Team-Acid were planning to go this far in thier war on diseased dongles.

Be great if @deank could post up anything he might be able to tell us about these mods? What we could really do with is a load of multiman features ported into the XMB somehow!

i have cyberskunk asked about it and showed him my changes to it and he was fine with it. he said it was a poc but they dropped it. i also make use of it, and it is the path for the bdemu and selector pkgs as an extra option on the pkg manager.

and i would recommend notepad++ to edit those xmbls, very comfortable with it

Cool, . Do you want to share what you did to the xml here and maybe we could integrate it if it adds anything to the package manager/ file manager mix id be up for it if rebug dont mind us all adding/messing which im sure they dont as its only making thier creation better in theory. Is it an extra option altogether you mean or a mod to one of the existing options inside package manager?

this is everything i have done. i have used an extra label as it refers to devflash. of course the msg_tool on plugin_full must be renamed.
afterall it is not much of a change but i like the extra option

PHP Code:
    <View id="seg_install_files_flash">
        <
Attributes>
            <
Table key="host_device">
                <
Pair key="icon_rsc"><String>tex_album_icon</String></Pair>
                <
Pair key="icon_notation"><String>WNT_XmbItemAlbum</String></Pair>
                <
Pair key="title_rsc"><String>msg_tool_flash_file</String></Pair>
                <
Pair key="info_rsc"><String>msg_tool_flash_file_info</String></Pair>
                <
Pair key="str_noitem"><String>msg_tool_no_package</String></Pair>
                <
Pair key="child"><String>segment</String></Pair>
                <
Pair key="ingame"><String>disable</String></Pair>
            </
Table>
        </
Attributes>

        <
Items>
            <
Query

class="type:x-xmb/folder-pixmap"

key="host_device" attr="host_device"

src="#seg_install_files_flash_path"

/>
        </
Items>
    </
View>

    <
View id="seg_install_files_flash_path">
        <
Items>
            <
Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_flash" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_flash/rebug/packages&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package"/>

Send a message via Yahoo to anan_desni
Please help.

Somehow it's not working on my PS3 (Rebug 3.55.2 Update 0.6).
I have rechecked the process step-by-step, but there is no new category on Package Manager subfolder
