Whole reason I'm making my own FW is because this ps3 has no blu-ray drive, and when you run a standard update, even kmeaw or rebug it will fail because it checks the blu-ray. I believe the reason it checks the blu-ray is so it can update something on the disc drive itself. It's looking like I'm going to have to try to run kmeaw through mfw to test it. I will let you guys know how it goes sometime tomorrow after I get off work. |

Tried running both Rebug, and Kmeaw through MFW with only the Blu-ray patches.
Good news is it didn't brick me, just like was suggested. Bad news is it does the same thing. Even messed around with all the different blu-ray settings inside Rebug. A buddy is going to let me see what happens when I plug in his bdrom logic board. I will post back, and let you guys know how it goes, but I'm pretty sure it's going to work. I have a bunch of logic boards, but they're all from 1st gen 60s, and 20s.. None have the same connector as this CECHL01. |

Just tried lv2-v9. It installs fine, but then when I go to run it I get the same black screen as I do with all other homebrew. I appreciate the suggestion greatly though! |

Ok, my friend stopped by, and I convinced him to let me open his 80gb ps3 (not sure of the model).
Unfortunately it doesn't use the same logic board as this CECHL01 i've been fighting with. Getting pretty frustrated. I've literally got 6 other half/fully broken ps3s laying around, and none of the logic boards on those fit this one either. Most of the motherboards I've seen have a ribbon connector that sits under the psu that's about an inch wide. The one giving me problems has a smaller ribbon that's about 1/4-1/2 inch in width. The fact I can install homebrew, but none run it is even worse! I would be happy if I could just run emulators at this point. |

I got the console cheap because of that. I figured I could just create a MFW with the BDROM patch, and use it to play homebrew. Again to reiterate I THINK the reason it won't load the homebrew I've installed is because the logic board for the BDROM isn't present. The reason I think this is because I saw where someone had that issue on another forum. |
