Hello everyone.Hi deank and thanks for the multiman manager.I have 2 questions here hopefully to get some answers or advice from these kind people here ^^
First of all, this afternoon when I updated to 04.00.00 and played a game..I heard loud sound coming out from the console. Then the game hang and the orange LED stopped blinking.I cant even switch off the console using the power button.I have to switch off the power supply. Not sure whether this is software or hardware problem but I hope to get some answers and advices. Secondly,I saw PSX,PS2 and PSP in XMMB column there...is it possible for us to play PS2 games? Sorry if I sound noob coz I'm really new in this >.< |

Probably the game crashed, but it has nothing to do with multiMAN. Once you leave mM and go to XMB to laod the game, multiMAN is no longer in PS3's memory and can't affect your PS3 experience. I guess it is a software problem (of the game you played) and not hardware issue with your PS3.
PSX/PS2/PSP in the Retro column can be used if you have Cobra dongle. |

2-Yes, but only if you use a Cobra dongle. You can play PSX backups from burned CDs using multiMAN, without the dongle. Also you can play PSN PSX games with reActPSN or patches. You can play PS2 games (original DVD) if your PS3 is an old B/C model (60GB or 80GB), directly from XMB. PS2 games on PS3 slims have a limited compatibility.

Okay..thanks for the fast reply from deank and aldostools!Hardware problem??Could it be the hard disk?Oh,after I restarted the console,it says hardware corrupted, needs to be restored.
Oh yea, thirdly, when I click BD-Mirror,it's automatically choose "external".I cant click the "internal",therefore I cant start any internal games that requires BD-Mirror fix. If it's really hard disk problem,I can just replace it since I intend to replace it with larger capacity..I am just afraid that it's not hard disk problem and since I jailbreak it,I cant sent it to repair centre

3-BD-Mirror fix only works with games stored in external HDD. That's is why the "external" option is auto-selected. PS. The "hard drive corrupted" normally occurs if the game is writing to HDD and it hangs and/or the console it turned off. BTW: Don't panic, restore your PS3 and hopefully the problem will not happen again.

Oh sweet mother of god...I rarely used it...hardly played over 5 hours per session...and it's just less than a year >.< Is there any way to diagnose the hard disk to check whether it's the hard disk problem?
Oh,I see..coz I saw in http://www.pshomebrew.net/wiki/PS3_B...atibility_List it's "YES" under internal, external and BD-Mirror so I assumed BD-Mirror fix works with both internal and external. Btw,if I were to send the console to Sony Service Centre, wat should I do to not let them knew I jailbreak it? Last edited by kenshihimura; 01-22-2012 at 08:54 AM. |
