flagged update theory
i was wondering since there are unsigned files such as the ones Devil303 has modified but changes through a firmware update...is there a way to set a flag in the firmware in 3.55 (or lower) to bypass those files during an update
![]() i was able to create a psn account on 3.41 by replacing the "explore psn category" "http.rco and sprx" from the 4.00 dump and replacing cert 24 and 27 with 37 and 39. (cant sign in but my psn store icons updated with new demos and games which never happened before) just my extra 2 cents. |

, very interesting isnt it, if this is correct it could be big news!@ps3hen : can you test more (seeing as you have a flasher)and get back to us if you can replicate what MoneyT has done? Thanks MoneyT, very intersting indeed! ![]()
Your idea wouldnt work for a normal pup though , as the dev_flash partitions are formatted during a normal pup install. Last edited by DeViL303; 01-24-2012 at 10:36 AM. |

no not using the firmware loader. i can give you the files i changed and you can try it. i have been going through and swiching out sprxs and rco to see which ones will cause a crash or RSOD.

actually team Ac1d's theory is what i was going after to see was true. Alot of the do cause the ps3 to not boot or RSOD but some dont. Which makes me believe sony only changed the keys to some files not all.
(props to Devil303 for the dev_flash dump) ************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
