now that you think about it a dongle is NOTHING
look at the xbox 360, you can spend a good £100+ for the right tools to flash your xbox and JTAG or RGH

PS3 first used a dongle (was around a £5er)
Xbox needs Probes and CK3 device (cost around £25-£30) - Its needed to flash your xbox
RGH (probably same as a CFW ps3) have to do a lot of soldering AND to buy a bunch of tools (Chips)

You do not see the Xbox scene having a lot of rants about this
