Problems with my MkV files
Hello guys! I am having some trouble with playing my MKV files. I have made some Half SBS videos and when I try to play them on Showtime I get nothing but sound. I herd the ps3 can play mkv files but my ps3s can't recognize them
Did I do somthing wrong? I tried older versions of showtime but it's not working. My 3DTV has two USB ports were I can watch videos and play music but my 3DTV does not recognize my mkv videos Does anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?

Now on to your dillemma. If you've made the .mkv yourself, then you might want to change the video encoder for your video as Showtime isn't the best video decoder. You can do this through your video reformatting software. mkv is a video container which incorporates different encoders for both video and audio. You may have encoded your sbs vid with a compatible audio encoder (most likely AAC) but an incompatible video encoder. The mainstream mkv video format utilises the AVC (h.264) video stream so try encoding with that. other than that, you could try converting the videos to .avi and playing it through the regular PS3 container but that uses a lot of disk space as mkv's, as you probably know, are highly compressed.

You know it's simple as this : if you want to help go ahead and post and help. If you don't don't want to help. Don't post at all. I don't care if it bothers you or whatever I just want hhelp and you are no going to help then go away troll. Can a mod close this? A friend of mine helped me get them to work. I don't want this troll to start *****ing again.
