Hello everybody, I'm new here to PS3hax.net. Just wanted to clarify that I have 1 ps3 that i downgraded to 3.55 with an e3 flasher. Alright so i have a couple of questions today. Here are my questions:

-What is a retail .pkg file? I saw this and that it was brilliant. But it said it can only install retail .pkg files. Idk what retail .pkg files are.

-If I do use this then will I be able to install multiman and Blackbox FTP, then be able to play backups on 4.00 and go online?

-I see that you can use data transfer with 2 PS3's like one with 3.55 CFW and the other with 4.00 OFW, and data transfer them to get a jailbreak on 4.00 OFW. To get a jailbreak on 4.00 and get online on it, do I transfer data from 3.55 to 4.00, or 4.00 to 3.55?

-Also I only have one PS3, so I can't data transfer. Is it possible to use the backup utility on 3.55CFW, and then restore on 4.00OFW and get the jailbreak on 4.00 and get online?

Alright, for now, that's it. I will be so thankful if I get these questions of mine answered. Thank you sooooo much!!!

1. retail pkg in simple, is sort of a Sony pkg such as game data, psn game etc. Sony uses pkgs also tho we dont see all the things involved its just downloaded and installed. nothing special as its just what ofw does, only thing ive seen it helpful for so far is people on cfw with a broken blu ray drive to install game data as the game cant be read so theres no way to get game data, so they get the retail pkg and install it.

2. you can install any pkg but its pointless as its not signed with 4.00 and wont work, THERE IS NO CFW OVER 3.55. retail pkgs work as its just sonys pkgs and are signed for there OFW.

3. data transfer doesn't make the other ps3 have cfw, all it does is transfer the data on the cfw ps3 to the ofw. its mostly used to get mods on the ofw ps3 to play online such as mw2 CL etc. YOU MUST BE ON NEWEST OFW TO PLAY ONLINE THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.

4. look above, to play online youll need to update to 4.00 or buy another ps3, sorry but there isnt any other way.


all these questions could of been answered if you just looked at the banner at top and clicked it, read a bit and understand what your trying to ask.

If you downgraded with e3 flasher, just dual boot and play your originals online.

Oh and if I data transfer 3.55 to 4.00, will I be able to use multiman and BlackBox FTP? Will I be able to go online?

yes multiman ftp everything works just fine
you can even go online and play whatever game you like

Look dude read the banner. 3.55 allows CFW (which means backups with MultiMan), sending said data from CFW 3.55 to OFW 4.00 will never work. Ever. No you cannot use PSN on 3.55 CFW. No amount of youtube videos or some random 1 time poster will change that. You're talking out of your ass if you think 3.55 CFW + 4.00 OFW = 4.00 jailbreak. You have 1 of 3 options:

1: Solder and downgrade or dual boot (You seem to not wanna do this so maybe we ignore this option).
2: Accept that you are unable to use MultiMan or anything else and just play games normally as you have been up until now.
3: Completely disregard the giant banner at the top of EVERY page and in this thread and every person who has tried to tell you so far that you are **** out of luck.

Sorry to say dude but if you come up with these theories that data transfering across CFW and OFW would work and think that the people in this scene wouldn't of tried that already you should probably give up until that banner which you still haven't read or clicked on changes.

Oh and before you ask, NO there is NO other way to downgrade. READ BANNER.
