Sooo.... I'm looking to purchase a new ps3, in hopes of finding one thats 3.55 or under. Been researching on the bundles and older ps3s for a bit now and I just wanted to make sure of a few things before I go ahead and buy it.

NEW PS3 250gb Little big planet 2 bundle - 3.55 under?
NEW 120gb/250gb Slim PS3 - 3.55 under?

Also, I found a new PHAT 160gb model, it has to be under 3.55, no?
And is there any other bundles I should know about that comes with 3.55 and under firmwares?
I will be looking through several pawn shops for older stocks of ps3, just need to make sure I know what i'm looking for.

slim 120GB, definitely... if you have doubts -> cech 20XX. when that says on the model number (xx is a number xD), you're safe

My 2 slims (160gb cech2501-A) come with 3.50.

ok so anything cech 20xx and under is 3.55 or lower.
The problem is I am ordering online so theres no way i can find out the model number...
As for the the 120gb and 250gb slim models, they will def come with 3.55 or lower, yes?

look for old slim bundle eg a few weeks back , i got 320gb slim gt5 bundle which was on 3.50 . find a proper ps3 bundle and then search when that game came out and what fw the game would be . my pack gt5 is 3.50 fw game

You're going to have more luck finding that 120 and 250gb with a low FW than you are with the 160gbs/320gbs, definitely.
Personally, I'd try anywhere that you're able to test the system and verify its FW yourself. Pawn Shops are usually cool with testing out systems...or a friend with an old YLOD those are pretty easy to get working again.
You can also try the E3 Flasher. Get yourself a slim on any firmware (model of slim does matter) downgrade it, and dual-boot between OFW and CFW like me

all new phat ps3 will be defo 100% be under 3.55 . ps3 phat stop being made at 3.15 or just under
