As said previously, the best fix is to reball the console, however as also stated above, what is the secondary error codes? It may not be a GPU issue, however if it is then a reflow will keep failing (espescially a towel trick or what-not, because it's not a proper reflow), a reball will keep on going for years.
Reballs are not expensive, about £40/$50, I know guys over here who charge £35 for a reflow! Also, the problem with the X-clamp "fix" is that most people either over-tighten it (had a console come in the other day that needed a ratchet to undo it!!!) or they do not tighten all the bolt up evenly. Also, replacing the old thermal compound which appears to be like concrete at times with Arctic Silver 5 will help keep the RRoD at bay once it's fixed (assuming it was a CPU/GPU fault). |

Easy fix all you have to do is take apart the 360 and get a hair dryer and just heat up the cpu/gpu for about 5 mins and replace the thermal compound with artic silver thermal compound and put back together and test if it didnt work heat it up again. worked for me :D

The best way would be to reball because Micros*ft didnt use lead based solder on them. The cheapest way would be to reflow. And that is people have said to do in the post.

Not knocking just saying that they didn't. So if they did maybe it wouldn't happen. I know none of the other ones don't cause I have had to reball many ps3s as well as the 360
