okay , decided then, getting the 250gb+ modnation racer bundle , as soon as the stores open tomorrow.

What i meant actually was ,
Will I be running out of space if i get a 250gb model ?
Is it modifiable for more space ?
Can I use external hdd(s) ?
Will I be able to jailbreak without any hardware modification ?
Do I need to tweak my jailbroken ps3 everytime i download a new game ?

You can always change out the internal HDD.
You can always add an external HDD via USB. (Make sure it has it's own power source.)
As far as games, some may need a fix. Search the forums and google for the game in question and you'll know what to do, if anything can be done to make it work.

Nobody can tell you if you'll be running out of space, it depends on your "appetite" for stuff, I have 500+500 GB on my PS3 (since I use it as a media center so I keep a lot of video on HDDs). Also, keep this in mind - you can buy an external USB 2.0 2,5" drive and it doesn't need additional power (I have a 500 GB WD Passport for example) while USB 3.0 drives need more power, from what I've seen around. As @alienkid said, that's fixable with external power or a self-powered USB hub. Internal HDD is easy to replace if you need a bigger one, just like in a laptop.

Also, if your PS3 is on 3.55 or lower firmware, you'll be able to jailbreak it without any hardware (well, you'll need a USB flash drive).

You don't need to tweak anything when you *cough* BACKUP A NEW GAME *cough*, just rip it on your PS3 or copy it from your PC and you're set.

I bought an 160gb slim on Jan 2010, and it came with 3.41, I think... Dont remember exactly, but right now its hacked! So it came with 3.55 or lower. Model is CECH-2501A.

Im thinking on buying another one, just for playing on PSN. What u recommend? Buy a new one, or buy an old one (hackable) and upgrade the 160gb slim I have right now? Dont know how difficult is to find a used one that isn't already upgraded, and also, if its possible to downgrade it...
