Sorry, english is not my native language and is difficult to explain things clear and resumed in 2 lines, i will try again because is a good question ![]() The problem with the hidden TITLE in secondary icon in "PS3_EXTRA" disc... Is a consequence (or a hard decission i taked) caused by a "dirty tweak" (i removed TITLE from PS3_GAME/PARAM.SFO), i did this for two reasons: 1 - To find the minimall parameters possible (the criticall ones) inside SFO's & SFX's for this structures to work 2 - To hide the primary icon (because there is nothing bootable in PS3_GAME) But there is no problem if you want to add "PS3_EXTRA" to a game... this game will have his "standard" PS3_GAME/PARAM.SFO and the TITLE of both icons will appear, easy as this, just add my "PS3_EXTRA" next to your "PS3_GAME" Think in it like my "PS3_EXTRA" its ok... but my "PS3_GAME" is mutilated... and you dont need the mutilated part My first try to simplify the structure was to remove completly the folder "PS3_GAME" to prove that "PS3_EXTRA" and "PS3_GAME" are not dependant because both are activated by the same flag "g" inside PS3_DISC.FSB... so theorically there can be a disc with only PS3_EXTRA (and not PS3_GAME) But... this doesnt works, if you remove "PS3_GAME"... then "PS3_EXTRA" is ignored, and i think this is a strange behaviour caused by the way backup managers load the discs, the disc appears in backup manager list, but fails to load when you press X (well, in fact it seems that its loading fine with no errors, but no stuff appears in XMB) :/ ------------ About a no-disc blu-ray emulator with 100% compatibility?, im not sure if the explain of all the structure and flags i wrote in ps3devwiki will help The only strange thing i noticed i can consider a bug is PS3_DISC.FSB is ignored in all cases (im not sure if completly or partially), and the "undesired" dependence between "PS3_GAME" and "PS3_EXTRA", i think both are a collaterall effect of some "trick" backup managers uses to mount the structure At least in the version of gaia manager i was using for the tests this 2 things was a bit strange, maybe this details can be implemented but i doubt it has much importance ------------ Some suggestions about SFO's & backup managers (and homebrew in generall) - Read values from the PARAM.SFO to display "features" of this game inside backup manager window like: "PSP remote play", "move compatible", etc... - Or the option to activate them - An option to "remove all warning screens" flags (the ones related with move that delays the load of the game around 3 seconds each) ... - Real version of the homebrew in APP_VER, to manage patches with higher values that only updates some files (this way a fix can be released in a lilltle .PKG with only the patched file) - non-cummulative patches to add "additionall content" like themes, covers, etc... that will be installed in the "standard" path (this will give you the option to remove the packs the same way than the officiall patches for games in the top of game column) - Standard path for SaveData to store your config/gamesave (you can erase it or export it to a usb pendrive) Last edited by sandungas; 01-30-2012 at 10:09 PM. So...
let's say it uses the sign in the original game (PS3_GAME) so... let's say we put the contents of PS3_GAME from a 3.60 game into the Extra folder and add it to a playable 3.55 game... can this be done? |

The same happens with the re-edited discs from PS2 that contains severall titles in a disc like "shadow of the colosus + ICO"... or "God of war collection 1 + 2" This games has a "selector" that is loaded previous to the games, you can launch one (or the other) game from this selector... so lets say the selector is independant of the games (theorically, you can bypass the selector) But still the verification is done when any executable is launched (the main executable of one game or the other) Similar thing happens with "modules" .sprx inside games Last edited by sandungas; 02-04-2012 at 01:28 AM. |
