WOW, I am amazed. Wait a minute, I have to wipe a tear from my eye. :-) I do have a question. My PS3 was on 355 OFW not kmeaw or CFW. I ran the PUP and it worked perfectly fine. It rebooted. I then checked the firmware version and it seem to still be 355 OFW except now I have the install pkg option on my dash. My question is, my RSOD is gone now, so do I still have to use the pkg file and if so why what does it do? AGAIN TY TY TY :-)

after you installed the pup you NEED to install the pkg and run
it from xmb
because if you only use the pup it's not fixed just bypassed

then install any cfw 3.55 you want and enjoy the ps3 once more

still have to say if it's hardware related the RSOD will be back

(not flaming) sorry but i dont get this, the few times i've messed up dev_flash, i've fixed rsod by installing rebug from recovery and had zero problems this way, am i doing it wrong? or causing damage?

Oh yeah forgot to ask regarding my situation earlier on posts 23 and 25 , i was just wondering if i have another alternative to fixing the rsod , i dont mind any firware version, cuz i already have another slim already jailbroken, its just i want my spare to start running even if its ofw. If theres a softmod method that would be great.

cechk01 160GB NOR fat, OFW 3.56 (RSOD)

Once again much appreciated to those who can help...

reran fix and it fixed again and tried reinstalling kmeaw again and came back to rsod
Maybe kmeaw is your problem? Just saying. You say it hurts when you do this. ;-)

There's no patches in his firmware that aren't in PS3MFW builder any way, I still wonder why people use it.
