I honestly have no clue now (Ok, I didn't have much of one before lol), but it is seriously becoming a case of hunt the needle now.

The ONLY constant in it all is the pathetic excuse about Piracy

Basically it would be like my pirating Visual Studio instead of pirating Halo 3 or Uncharted 3.

So what is up with the hypocrisy?

Anyways, thanks for the leak. Just wanted to ask why people don't mind one thing, but absolutely hate the other. When they are both the same thing.
Same reason A lot of people are happy to download all the films/movies/games they can but would actively criticise a thief for stealing something. You draw your own lines in life and hope it doesn't stop you sleeping at night.

You are completely right, i think that is why PSL1GHT was created, to try and justify the illegality

It makes you feel good to say you don't pirate

OK, my take is that without leaks no progress is ever made. The scene started from a leak.

My main view on the sdk is that Sony used their tools to screw everyone over and take away features so they are corrupt, IMO. The SDK can be used to "fix" the things they took away. E.g forced updates that remove features simply because they decided we shouldn't have things.

Downloading games is completely different to me as I like to support those who deserve it. If I felt that a game company had done me an injustice I would treat them the same way.

I don't care about what people do as to pirating things btw, that's their choice. I detest the sale of warez though. Its like the line between stealing food for your family or stealing items to sell on the black market. There is a line that I personally believe should not be crossed.

Sorry for the off topic and there is a piracy debate thread should you want to discuss it further

Whilst i personally don't have a problem with him, im not going to let him attack me when all i did was ask a question, what annoys me, is that he somehow thought i was attacking the Wiki, when i have done nothing but support it and argue with those attacking it.

I'm not a dev or a hacker and even I do not see any piracy increasing due to this release.

All I see is that it will help devs to create better homebrew apps and games as they now have the full sdk to review and see how it all works.

We still cannot install anything on 3.6+ consoles as we still do not have the keys, so anything that is released will still only be usable on cfw3.55. So why the bruhaha on piracy?

Ever tried to buy the SDK legally?

edit: It costs about $ 10.000,- / € 7500,- and $ony will only sell it to you if you are a well known big game developer company...
Note: the Xbox SDK costs about $ 20.000,-
