No problem but please turn off your caps lock

did you use the vflash tools actually?

have seen forms that are i bit different on the way you set up the ps3 create and delete dev flash 5,6,7, and so on.
did you do something like this before:

1. delete_vflash5
2. delete_vflash7
3. create_vflash5
4. resize_vflash
5. create_vflash7

(all pkg's to run from gameos)

If not, you didn't change the vflash and can continue installing. At least you know how to find your usb device in petitboot

Yep i did somthing like that
1. delete_vflash6
2. delete_vflash5
3. create_vflash5
4.create_vflash6
4. resize_vflash
5. create_vflash7
i even did the delete_vflash7 i think. as to the forms say!

I did see the content restore_vflash.sh in the usb directory after your advice, and at the next command promp i typed sh restore_vflash.sh. Thats when i got the unmount remount message in the last post.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
Does this mean i didn't mess with vflash at all and just think i did???

Needed the help from Gitbrew IRC for that error:

http://gitbrew.org/~glevand/ps3/scripts/
download and run is_vflash_on.sh script in shell petitboot
(I never used this script before but if I am correct it should say something like "vflash is on" according to the script)
reboot

Next run the restore_vflash.sh in shell petitboot, it should work now

Let me know if something goes wrong, like I said I have never used those scripts before

Cool i did the script and petitbott did say vflash is on.
I am about to do the other restore script.
When you say reboot do you mean type reboot so that petitboot exit's and then go into petitboot again,Or do you mean to "reboot the ps3"???
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
Cause i still get the same unmount remount thing as before
unmounting all vflash regions ...
remounting vflash region 7 ...
/dev/ps3stormer: no such divice or address
couldn't remove vflash region 7
root @ps3 -linux:/tmp/petitboot/mnt/sda1*

Vflash7 is a hdd partition. Can you give me the size of your HDD and the formatted size?

something like: 500 Gb HDD (465 Gb formatted), 422 Gb free
(I assume you have a clean GamOS/Rebug installed)

Just to make sure if vflas7 got resized or not. If you have a 500 Gb HDD and it says something like 425 Gb free there is no enlarged Vflash7 for linux and we don't need to fix it. If is says 377 Gb free there is a enlarged Vflash7 partition and we still need to fix it.

http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=22329

below the 5 steps with deleting/resizing/creating Vflash5/6/7 there is a calculation, you can use it if you have a other disk size.

your HDD should be 97 Gb
http://community.eu.playstation.com/.../td-p/11848546

So we miss 20 Gb. You made a 20 Gb Vflash7 partition?

Fastest way would be a format on a PC/laptop. This way the partition table gets rebuild and the drive is clean from PS3 partitions and will be re-formatted on the PS3 to standard sizes...

I will try to ask on gitbrew again, but it is weekend and very quiet....

i might have used a 20gb cfw from gitbrew.
all i have to do is change cfw's and then do the system restore and the hard drive size changes.if i put ofw back then you see the hard drive size as it was new..well with a higher fw that is!!!
So did i vflash or not?
How do i reformat with laptop ftp or what???
If that will fix my restore_vflash.sh back to good again then i will do that.
Look's like this is not a common problem cause there aren't any clear answers
Someone has the key and when i get it iam sharing

the 20 gb missing, the cfw did the partition.

yes i can make my system say 97gb just putting ofw back on.
so does that fix the problem? cause i could have done that before or is there a need to reformat with a laptop/pc.
