Good evening everyone, I making this thread because I'm willing to get a console and all I've had in a couple last of years are games that would run on my old PC and Ipod, so I have to choose betweem Xbox and PS3. Now finding answers on the web hasn't been a good task, since there's always PS3 and XBOX fans just saying their console is better for no real reason, or answers like "JB is bad". so I would like to hear from you what makes PS3 better(since I assume you like it better), what makes it a better machine than an xbox, why it's better when jailbroken than a modded xbox, what console is more confortable, what console is better for online playing (when jailbroken, if it's somehow possible) and what I can do better with which console.
I hope I'm not being very picky, but I like good arguments :D
PD: I don't know if this is an unappropriate post for talking about xbox or something, if that's the case just let me know why PS3 is the best console in the market :D

I have a ps3 and an xbox 360 and too be honest i play the ps3 more since i just got it in october. i guess the real question is which scene is better and I'd have to go with the Xbox scene. the xbox scene is light years ahead of the ps3 it had a year and a half head start on its homebrew but that was crippled when they patched the jtag exploit but now they have the RGH now to jtag any xbox even the slims. the PS3 scene (and idk maybe i'm just crazy) only seems to be out for profit rather then trying to mature the young ps3 scene. seems like devs are more concerned with lining their pockets then helping the community. but hey thats just me

out of the two i will go into a couple of scenarios.

xbox pros:
better memory management
better online experience
all games can be pirated/backed up and played online

xbox cons:
hardware not as reliable
pay for online
no bluray

ps3 pros:
bluray
free online
allows otheros <----- point now obsolete

ps3 cons:
manufacturer removes features
online play is touch and go
piracy/backups are not as simple
memory management sucks ass
hacked = offline only



my recomendation, get an xbox slim

paying for online is a problem, since I think I cannot pay for it for we don't have full acces for dollars, now the scene thing is very important, IF they were to hack last FW for PS3, would you recommend getting one? I kinda liked it for bluray and its games :P a hacked PS3 can't play online? what about xkai-link, doen't it work? (or is it bad?)

xlink kai works for "system link" games only
its not ideal but does work

never "expect" proper psn multiplayer though.

honestly i wouldnt recommend a ps3 over xbox now.
maybe when linux was supported as it brought a whole new "legitimate" feature from the manufacturer but as they took it away, i wouldnt trust them.

as for scenes. the xbox is open/friendly while the ps3 scene is basically out for profit except for a few die hard devs.

also sony are chasing after anyone they deem a threat so its hard for devs to openly work on things

Uhmm I see.. well, when PS3 was taking and edge it looks like Xbox is on top despite the lack of bluray jeje.. what are system link games? how does it work? does it mean I can only use it with another xbox next to mine? (I don't know if your familiar with xbox, but I'm gonna ask) or can I play with my friends?(two of them live about 5-10 miles away while the other ones lives about 60 or 70 miles away)
