Hello there.

So, i've bought used console few months ago. When i go to check my fw, it says 3.60, but its jailbroken, can play 3.55 games from my hdd etc...

So i guess guy who sold it to me spoofed it??? Is there any other explanation.
How can i check it for sure?

So if its true, how to remove it, i am not sure should i have some back ups from it cuz i dont. Am i doomed?

Go into recovery mode and install a 3.55 PUP. If it works it's spoofed.

How do you know it jailbroken? Did they tell you that? I'm assuming if you knew it was Jailbroke you wouldn't be asking if its spoofed. If it has cfw you would have package manager under game column

uhmmm... sry im bad with those terms

I am using "jailbreak" term for any console that can play games from hdd(free)...

its just that, dont mind me...

under games tab i have

-game data utility
then those save stuffs, trophys blah...
-/app_home/ps3_game
-*install package files
-multiman
-blackb0x FTP v1.2
-lv2 patcher

Ill try it tomorow, if i do that what u wrote, what will happend, spoof will be deleted, or it will only let me know is it spoofed or not. Whats next move then if it is?

You just need to update your spoof. But you can install any cfw you want on it. Rebug or kmeaw are the two best.

Ive just didnt add one thing in my post, cuz ive noticed there is a lot of hate about that TB dongle, which ive bought with E3 Flasher( friend will install it for me in few weeks).
So i was trying to install TB fw via storage media, made PS3/UPDATE folders, but ive got "no applicable update data was found" message. So i am thinking it is cuz of that 3.60 spoof... thats actualy reason why im asking all this, what should i do to enable that freaking TB...

The spoof will be deleted and you'll return to 3.55 under system info. Just make sure you don't install anything higher than 3.55. The spoof really doesn't do anything, i don't really know why you want to remove it, unless you want to re-spoof to a higher firmware. If you want spoof to to 4.00 or w/e just install 3.55 & then 4.00 spoof.

Im just thinking that spoof (?!) makes me problems for installing TB dongle firmware cuz i keep getting "no applicable update data was found" message when i try to install it via USB. Thats reason.

EDIT: Could u pass me now, or tomorow some safe link for downloading 3.55... If not , ill find it somehow, somewhere. U helped enough anyway

When attempting to install from the XMB, the spoof will prevent your PS3 from installing an update that is the same version as your currently installed spoof. When you install from the Recovery menu, it detects the actual firmware version, and allows you to install a firmware of the same version over the firmware which is already installed. If you use the recovery menu, you will have no issues with getting your TB dongle to work, or with getting rid of your spoof, etc.

Just tell me one more, should i be then install 3.55 first anyway(just to get rid of that "3.60 thingy showing"), or i can just try this time installing that TB fw through recovery mode over it.
