If you want to play online and play every game you buy (even new ones) go with the xbox360.

To do this with a ps3 you can dual boot with your progskeet. But you will have to play your originals when playing new ones or online.

I couldn't care less about online. I waited since January 2009 for the PS3 to be hacked, so I am probably the most patient person you'll ever meet. And both consoles have XLink anyway. I really don't want to purchase new hardware. What I want is for this to be like the PSP scene or the PS2 scene, where you can play every game and go to whatever firmware you want with no restriction based on hardware. I wouldn't mind going into service mode to flash unsigned 4.00+ PUPs. I already have an iPhone 3G for a JIG.

Sorry, yeah I was thinking of flashing the drive and using discs.

You could also use the x360key or wasabi x360 solderless drive emulator.
But both would mean buying more hardware.

I personally love my ps3 and would prefer it over my xbox360. It does suck that you have to either have 2 ps3's(1OFW,1CFW), or flasher of some type to dual boot, or True Gay dongle, to play newer games.

Since you already have a progskeet, I would suggest keeping it and buying a
ps3.

I can't solder directly to NANDs. Last time I tried, I ended up with the YLOD and sold my PS3. I have no problems with NOR because of the testpoints.

im having the same thoughts to myself. I just switched to an xbox, and its not as great as i remember it. But then again, I don't have a large game library, so thats probably why..

Ps3 sounds easier to hack, in my opinion xbox sounds dangerous with the whole banning thing.

It's personal preference. I have a xbox360 and a ps3. I enjoy the ps3 because i have two of the things. Mine is on CFW and then the kids one on OFW for online play - My CFW ps3 is to make it easier playing LAN without buying two discs of one game.

Who knows - Xbox sounds the way to go when it comes to 'JBing?' it, More ability and more optional things to have over the JB'd ps3. But give the PS3 scene a good year and it may prove it self.

Things have always been good in that scene.
Hardware is sold when hardware is required.
When not required, new fw has been released constantly
