Not to mention modifiying the eboot and then the game files (by replacing the eboots), is not legal. It is no longer "your own" copy of a game like DMCA dictates once you do that.

What's you're point? People will do something illegal just because the option is right before their nose? I can steal something at the store because it is right before my eyes, but I don't.
Personally, I find eboot fixes for games a person owns perfectly fine. Same with having multiple digital copies. Just so long as they have the original.

Just that I find the DMCA silly when it comes to rules like that. All I am saying is that no matter what, TB makes people do something illegal.

Distribution is illegal.
What you do with your own **** for personal use is nobody elses concern. Adding copy protection/drm to somebody's code and then distributing it is highly illegal and steps well over the gray area boundary

If its free (Or out there so to speak) & breaks a few DRM laws here & there, No problem. But, If someone uses something that is free (Or out there so to speak), Work on it & ask for some $$$ back, There's a problem. So its ok for us to break a law, But its not ok for other's to break laws & ask for $$$.
We all break laws, One worse than the other. But now that they want cash for something they got, That you also want, You guys bring out the big guns screaming "DRM DRM". lol at everyone pretty much claiming that they never break any DRM laws EVER. Come on guys. EDIT: I dont have a TB, Nor will I buy one. But all this "Its illigal to sell it, Quick EVERYONE ! DRM DRM", When chances are we have all broken a DRM law in one way or another is bull****. I DONT support them because I think they're greedy bastards that use other peoples work/help (Scene's work, Not Sony DRM bla bla bla) & then try to sell it back to us. Thats all. But I will take my hat off to them for doing what noone else has been able to do, Or even come close for that matter. Last edited by STRATEGIZER; 02-06-2012 at 06:48 PM. |

No one is claiming they do not break laws. It is just absurd that TB charges people for piracy and doing other illegal things.

I have never liked the dongle I will not recommend anyone ordering one. Sure you can play the latest games, but you are supporting thieves in a way at that point. Everything they have used to make that dongle work like that is probably Sony code. By ordering the dongle you are supporting these thieves habits. I know the first jailbreak had to be paid for but it was open sourced very quickly. Even Cobra doesn't bother me as much as True Blue. At least Cobra adds features instead of ripping off pirates, but I have a huge issue with all dongles.
Yes the original jailbreak cost you a little cash (either for a dongle or teensy etc) but a few months after the holes were explained. Never cost anyone a dime. It was never supposed to cost anyone anything. Now to play an extra handful of games you have to buy this closed stolen source dongle.....does it seem like we went backwards to beginning? I am still a firm believer that linux was the cause. Even Marcan said it when they were giving that presentation. This was a slap in the face because Sony took something from the customers, never was it meant to make money which is really ****ing sad.
