Okay guys maybe I can give some insight to this method and the gameboot on the PS3. So as you know this method dont work. I have tried this and other ways to make a gameboot logo and sound with no success. The fact is since firmware 3-4 the gameboot has been running. When you run a game/app the screen goes black and the particles grow in size and fade out that is the current gameboot.

In theory I have a way to have a gameboot logo but no sound cus that would require vsh.self patch (risk a brick). I will test my method and show/tell any findings or results.

With respect to raddog I think he just wanted someone to test for him as he didn't show his gameboot or sound. I have no issue with that though.

Pleeeease someone make this work, I will be forever grateful. Sony...argh, why the hell did they get rid of it anyway? For rebranding? What rebranding?? Removing the Spiderman font and replacing it with a PS2/PSP logo with curves and a 3? Are you kidding me? Guess what...my fat PS3 still has the Spiderman font printed on it so why didn't you give me a choice of what boot-screen/sound I wanted you controlling b*stards.

Well, you know Sony. Anything that is not necessary for the system to function can be removed, according to them.

My method works and you can have a fullscreen gameboot logo/background. I have opened a new thread with a preview http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?p=328085
