Gray lines across TV?

So this is the repairs section so I figured this would go here? Not sure, but I would rather post this question around gamers then on like yahoo answers. So I have my PS3 and a Sony XBR 54" 1080P TV. I have a standard ps3 cable right now and just ordered monster cables (Not HDMI like the RCA cords with 2 extra ones to make it HD). It worked great yesterday but now it shows these grey fuzzy lines. Almost like the no input screen and the PS3 screen is transparent. Please help, I just wanna game! I've tried different input ports but they are all grey!

Did you try to reset the PS3's video settings?

Make sure the system is off.
Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep.
The video settings are now reset, you should be able to choose your input and configure it from there again

Okay, I know this may sound like a stupid question... but you wouldnt believe the simple mistakes some people make. What does the picture look like when using different inputs on the same TV? For example, plug in a different device (360, bluray player, etc) using the same cable and same input on the TV and see if the problem is still there. If so, its either the cable or the TV and not the ps3. Also, try using a different input on the TV (for example if your TV had two HDMI in ports and you were using HDMI in, go from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 and see if the problem persists). In all honesty, if it worked yesterday and now it doesnt, its probably a cable issue or hardware and not software settings. I would try using different cables and if they work then just send those cables back and get a refund or replacement set. This may seem over explained but most of the time over explaining things while online is much better then just a simple answer... Hope this helps and good luck.

i dont know if the lines you got are the same ones i use to have. but my problem was when my component cable on the back of the ps3 was not plugged in good i would get lines so i had to push it in and wiggle it until it was clear. so i got a hdmi and my problem was gone.
no more wiggle to fix it

What happens if you move the cable at the connector ends (TV and PS3) a little to the left and right and up and down? Maybe it is a bad contact within the cable. If it flickers on screen or if the signal gets right doing that there is a bad contact. I have had the same problem with a € 30,- HDMI cable...

Fixed it guys, thanks for all the help! I just got a new cord. Didn't feel like testing whether it was my cord or my TV, cause finding out it was my TV would piss me off so much. Thanks for all your help!
