If you're talking about SHOWTIME: In multiMAN (SETTINGS) you have an option to set desired font for Showtime. Try with one of the other 10 fonts until you find one that works for you.

If about mM itself: try to press [R3] (or change the font in SETTINGS) until you find a font that works for you.

you need to activate something about retro column in settings. i had the same problem. update probably is turning off this setting.

* Added support to set "External Game Data" for games/applications installed under /dev_hdd0/game or /dev_usb***/GAMEI (RELOAD.SELF required)
...how should it be used RELOAD.SELF?

Yes, it fixed the Retro problem, but not the RELOAD.SELF from GAMEI folders.

don't know don't use it, I don't see the point in having it show up in mM if you can't load it from mM

It makes the process quicker for those (or at least for me) that install PSN games on an external HDD, it quickly puts the console in External HDD mode when you launch the game from multiMAN--a big bonus for those with multiple USB HDDs connected to the console. It's just a bonus feature, that's all. Hopefully it can be fixed, since it was working great before these recent updates.

@deank , also please know that it would be also cool if we can turn on EXT GAME DATA feature to games on GAMEI folder (using RELOAD.SELF) for these games. I hope you can figure out a solution. Thanks.

I don't know what the problem is really. Just re-checked with a game installed in /GAMEI (added fake reload.self to make it appear in game column). mM allowed changing the option "Ext. Game Data", started the game and mM enabled the ext-game-data and quit to XMB.
