Help Wanted PS3 slim 4.10 options

I've had my ps3 slim for a few years now & have decided to mod it now. I'm not sure if its a 3000 or lower ps3 yet as I'm at work but want to know what my options are for modding? I want to be able to download games to my external hard drive and play them.
What do I need in order to achive this?
Thank you,
-Epic

As of now, the firmware 4.10 hasn't been confirmed to downgrade yet. If it's possible, you will need a hardware flasher to downgrade to firmware 3.55 because that's the highest hack-able firmware to play your original backed up games

Thanks jdtamimi!
What hardware flasher is recommended?
After downgrading do I create my own USB drive or do I have to buy one of those ps3 hack drives?
Thank again!

Every USB harddrive will work as long as it is USB 2.0 and isn't that big (I remember max =2 TB, not sure about that though). Only thing that is needed is that it is fat32 formatted and doesn't take to much power from the USB port if it is a 2.5 "" drive without external power.

Progskeet is the best hardware flasher btw, don't know if it will downgrade 4.10....

UPDATE:

I just purchased Progskeet v1.1 for my PS3 slim CECH-2000A running firmware 4.10 & have a few questions.

What else is needed for a solderless Progskeet install? Or is everything included already with the v1.1 found here? *LINK*

What other hardware is needed to dual boot with Progskeet v1.1 after I downgrade? I want one boot for Custom FW for my external HDD game collection & the other boot for playing online with OFW & game disc such as BF3.

Also I've searched for a video guide for installing Progskeet v1.1 solderless but haven't had any luck. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks again for any help. You guys are great!
