just curious, can i back up 360 games?

Yeah, even when they're not modified you can copy a game from DVD onto your HDD and play it from there. It spins the disk up to make sure it's legit, but then stops reading from the DVD and just reads from the HDD. If your fans aren't going fast (or if it's a slim) then it's much more quiet.

But if it's modded, you can choose to backup your games onto dual layer DVD's or there another mod to play without disks. Then there are other solutions like xkey or wasabi etc you can buy.

If you're going to modify it: Can you solder or have you much of a budget to spend? Is online playing a priority for you?

yes, xbox 360 has all the backups and they all work

Well to make a backup you will need a kreon drive or an 0800 drive. You will also need to open the 360 and flash the DVD drive with a custom firmware. You can also do the RGH (reset glitch hack) and that will allow homebrew as well as backups. Google is your friend as well as the search tab here.

A flashed drive will let you on live if you make proper backups, and the RGH will not. Consider a RGH 360 the same as a MFW ps3 except the 360 has no limitations on backups like the PS3.

microsoft go about the issue in a more "responsible" way
pirates buy consoles, why alienate a consumer base?
they ban from live when they catch ppl so then those may buy another console.

also MS charge for live so even if they ban, they still got payed

mmmm.. don't u think it's a little unfair? i mean pirates cost them money so they go to honest players and take their money to replace the money the pirates cost them. i htink it's more beneficial to the pirates. don't u think so?
even if he was banned from playing online, he is paying .. how much 10 $ to 20$ for a game.. sounds like a nice deal to me.

I don't think you understand what I was trying to get across.

Microsoft charge for playing online, they always have and the service is far superior to psn.
Even pirates must pay for online play but when they are caught, their consoles are banned permanently. Sure there are ways to unban but not as easy to get unbanned keyvaults.

Many just buy a new console which makes Microsoft more money. After all if they don't get sales from games, they may as well make sales on hardware. Microsoft knows pirates can still bring them cash so they do what they need to without going to extreme unfair solutions

They don't charge money to regulars to cover losses at all. The service is premium for a good reason.
