of course its connected to the battery in the controller ^^ and you recharge it when you recharge the controller..... but one thing i cant stop thinking about.......... what if you forget to turn of the headset ??? cuz you have to turn in on with the original headset power button.... i would get pissed of a lot if i forgot it and had to recharge the controller every time i use it ^^(not that it uses that much power but still)
tried it myself but my headset was to big.... soldered a led instead.. - to a gnd point and + to one of the vibrators positive point

not to be a hater man but i like my design better i havent build it yet but i have thought it up, build it in the controller but replace the speaker with a 3.5 mm female plug so i can plus headphones into and solder me a button to pair the headset and a volume up/down button, but nice desing man, when i get it done ill have to post a picture

ok so i just did the same thing but added me in a plugin for a headphone so now im using my built in headset with a plugin on my ps3 controller that lets me plug in my sony mdr-zx100 headpjones with it lol i have thought and thought bout doing this but now i see other people have dun it so i decided ayy wut the heck
