if people would ever bother to click on the search button they would find guides very easily

here is an excellent one and those that find this guide too technical need to give up hope of ever fixing it themselves and send it off for a reball

Other than that, you will need a 'normal' screwdriver and a torx screwdriver to get the motherboard out.

Also need to remove the old thermal paste, and apply new.

if you do a ylod fix "YOU MUST" get some replacement paste. "DO NOT ATTEMPT A REFLOW" without new paste or you will cause more problems

hairdryers lmao

if they manage to eventually get it running its probably a matter of hrs until it goes again.

relows last between 1 hour or months dependent on your skills and luck

given that you tried to fix it with a hairdryer then i estimate your reflow with a heatgun would last a matter of hours if you didnt kill it of course

reballing is when they take the BGA from the board, clean it and apply new solder balls (leaded) so that it will be as good as/if not better than new

you can not reflow with a hairdryer. the best it can do is make solder expand a little forcing the cold joints to meet. for a reflow you need around 220 deg C to melt the solder.

hairdryers do not do the same thing as a heatgun
you wont have killed it with your hairdryer but if you attempt a half assed fix with a real heatgun then you will.

you need real thermal compound
you need real thermal compound
you need real thermal compound

do not try a reflow without it
